- For admission in MBBS and BDS against Foreign Seats Quota required pre-requisite conditions for eligibility as under:
- Minimum 60% marks in equivalent examination from a foreign university or examination body or foreign education system with at least three science subject i.e biology, chemistry and either physics or mathematics and such course must have been duly certified by the inter boards committee of chairman (IBCC) as equivalent to HSSC or FSc or intermediate level of Pakistan.
- Individual must hold a permanent foreign nationality or dual nationality or overseas Pakistani student who has studied and passed HSSC 12th grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan and has stayed in the foreign country for the whole duration of the above mentioned course and possesses a certificate from the institution last attended to this effect.
- Eligibility of foreign nationals
- As per PMDC, there are two categories of students for the purpose of seeking admission to a medical or dental college. Pakistani Students and Foreign Students.
- A Foreign Student is defined as per Category A and B below:
- Category A: Any student who is a foreign national and does not hold Pakistani nationality and has obtained HSSC, 12th grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan.
- Category B:Any student who is a non-resident Pakistani or non-resident dual national having obtained their HSSC, 12th grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan.
- MDCAT shall not apply to applicants seeking admission exclusively for foreign students and on the seats reserved for overseas Pakistanis. Such students shall qualify for SAT-II with a minimum score of 550 in each subject or a foreign MCAT examination or UCAT examination with 50% marks in the subjects as prescribed in the Regulation. - A Foreign Student may apply for preparation of merit to a Private College based on having taken the MDCAT result OR SAT II results in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Math’s.
- The ratio given to each score for calculating cumulative score equivalence to MDCAT shall be Biology: 40%, Chemistry: 30%, Physics/Math’s: 20%.
- English is exempted if the student has obtained their HSSC qualification from a program taught primarily in English.
- Any Foreign Student falling in either Category A or B, may at their option apply using EITHER SAT II results or MDCAT results. This applies to students seeking admission to Private or Public Colleges.
- For admission to medical Colleges, PMDC will issue an equivalence formula for SAT II scores for Foreign Students for use in calculating merit.
- A Foreign Student who elects to come to Pakistan and take the MDCAT will NOT lose their status as Foreign Student for purposes of applying for admissions.
- A Foreign Student will, after having taken the MDCAT, still retain the right to either select their MDCAT score or their SAT II scores at the time of applying for admissions to Private College.
